Rainah's birthday

Rainah turned three on Friday and we celebrated her birthday today.  Her mom Harli came to read Big Pumpkin to us during grouptime and she stayed with Rainah and our class for the yummy crackers and squirt cheese she brought to share with us!  Happy 3rd birthday to Rainah!!

Pumpkin Carving

We read a book called pumpkin faces and voted on the cat face for our pumpkin.  Lori drew the face and carved in out and we helped pull out the slimmy guk inside and separated the pumpkin seeds.  Many of the children dug right in while other chose to be observers :)  Here are some of our photos.  Then we lit the jack-o-lantern during naptime.  Thanks to Hannah and family for the light, candles and nice pumpkin!

Aidan K.'s Birthday

Today we celebrated Aidan's 3rd Birthday!  We had yummy fruit roll-ups and Aidan was so excited to share his treat and have us sing to him and clap three times! Happy Birthday Aidan!

Zoe's 3rd birthday!

For Zoe's birthday today her mom and dad brought mylar balloons for each child.  The children were so thrilled and so was Zoe!

A Day at the Westwood Nature Center

We were happy to see the rain stop so we could enjoy an outing at the Nature Center.  It was cloudy but a warm day with much to see!  First we were able to explore the inside of the nature center.  We saw many types of animal skins, furs and bones, and learned about many animals who live in the nature center.  Then we saw a puppet show about animals in the fall looking for food and places to live.  It was so funny!  After the show we went on a nature walk using all of our senses to explore nature and try to find signs of animal life around us.  We came back inside and the naturalist Becky brought out a live snake for us to watch and pet!  That was really cool too!
